While the Canadian media obsesses over Rob Ford’s follies in Toronto while the American media hyperventilates over the slow rollout of Obamacare, there’s a real tragedy taking place in the Philippines, which was recently battered by Typhoon Haiyan.

The typhoon affected over 12 million people, leaving thousands dead and many more without food, clean water, clothing and shelter.
